The relevant information appeared in the database of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Previously, a court in Moscow in the spring of 2023 arrested Kirill Budanov in absentia. Then he was accused of creating a terrorist community (Part 1 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code), a terrorist attack committed by a group of persons (Part 1 of Article 30 and paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code), as well as possession of weapons and explosives ( Part 3 of Article 222, Part 3 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code).
The press service of the court did not specify what kind of terrorist attack the investigation implied. Sources from the TASS propaganda agency say that we are talking about an explosion on the Kerch Bridge.
Budanov’s card does not indicate in which specific criminal case he was put on the wanted list.
Russia’s Investigative Committee announced in early October that it had brought charges in absentia of terrorist acts against four Ukrainian military leaders, including Kirill Budanov. The Investigative Committee considers them involved in drone attacks on Russian targets.
Previously, the Russians opened criminal cases against many Ukrainian officials, businessmen and military personnel. Russian courts arrest defendants in such cases in absentia and put them on the wanted list. Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, in turn, are investigating cases against Russian officials and military personnel related to crimes committed during the invasion.
