The coalition for joint air and missile defense will be led by Germany and France.
The conference of the coalition to strengthen the air defense in Ukraine was held in Berlin on Wednesday, December 13. About that reports German Ministry of Defense on social network X.
“Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group on November 22 that Germany and France are leading the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Coalition,” the report notes.
The German department added that this was the coalition’s inaugural conference. It was attended by approximately 70 participants from 22 countries and representatives of the EU and NATO.
The German Ministry of Defense said the goal of the coalition was to coordinate the development of an air defense architecture in Ukraine that would be compatible with NATO.
As we have already written, in Germany the ruling alliance entered into an agreement on a revised fiscal plan for 2024. Budget difficulties arose after the decision of the constitutional court.
