The detainee turned out to be a church choir member and the wife of the rector of the local UOC-MP church. The SBU press center reported this today, December 13.
It was established that, based on the coordinates of the defendant, the Russian occupiers tried to hit the bases of the Defense Forces near the regional center, the SBU notes. — First of all, the enemy was interested in the temporary deployment points of Ukrainian Armed Forces units, which are involved in counter-offensive operations in the Berdyansk and Melitopol directions.
It is noted that SBU officers located the informant and detained her in her own house in one of the villages near Zaporozhye.
According to the investigation, the defendant, from the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, supported the criminal actions of the invaders and hoped to capture the entire southern region of Ukraine, which, in particular, she repeatedly told her friends from Moscow during telephone conversations.
Subsequently, the defendant began to track the concentration of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the community, the SBU noted. “She transmitted the resulting information via messenger to her acquaintances in Russia, who then “reported” about this to representatives of the Russian special services.
During searches at the detainee’s place of residence, a mobile phone was discovered, which she used to transmit classified information.
The attackers reported suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code (unauthorized dissemination of information about the direction, movement of weapons, weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, committed under martial law).
The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
The press service of the Zaporozhye Regional Prosecutor’s Office informs that the court has currently chosen the suspected preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest using electronic monitoring.
