Subscribers’ personal data was not compromised, and the systems in which it was stored were not affected, the company said.

The Russian hackers did not harm the mobile operator Kyivstar the damage they claim. Company representative Irina Lelichenko said this in a commentary for LIGA.net on Wednesday, December 13.

“What we see in screenshots from Telegram channels is a type of randomly collected technological data that does not belong to the personal data of our subscribers. Kyivstar declares with full responsibility that the personal data of subscribers is safe. Information from enemy Telegram channels about the alleged destruction of “computers and servers” Kievstar “is also not true,” assured Lelichenko.

Earlier on Wednesday, Russian hackers from the group Sunlight claimed responsibility for the cyber attack on Kyivstar, declaring the destruction of “10 thousand computers, more than 4 thousand servers.”

The day before it became known that the consequences of the hacker attack were worse than imagined. Removing them can take from a day to a week, or more. Wherein Kyivstar fixed line services have been partially restored.
