The meeting had to be adjourned, and after its resumption the deputy was removed from participating in the meeting.
In Poland’s Sejm, Confederation Party deputy Grzegorz Braun extinguished a Jewish candlestick – Hanukkah – installed in the hall with a fire extinguisher, Rzeczpospolita reported on Tuesday, December 12.
It was noted that the scandal occurred at a meeting where the new Prime Minister Donald Tusk was questioned. He had to be distracted.
Due to the incident, the hallways of the Seimas were filled with powder from the fire extinguisher used by the deputy.
“In the place of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland there is no place for acts of racist, tribal, savage, Talmudic worship. As I understand it, ignorance speaks to those present. You do not understand the meaning of this act, this message , which is innocently called Hanukkah. Racist motives are attributed to me here. whereas I am in the process of restoring a state of normality and balance here, ending the works of satanic, Talmudic revelry, because that is exactly what message these holidays,” Onet quoted Brown as saying.
Seimas Speaker Shimon Golovnya suspended the deputy from participating in the meeting. Meanwhile, Justice Minister Adam Bodnar said that the politician’s actions can be qualified under three articles.
In response, newly elected Prime Minister Donald Tusk called the incident a “shame,” saying it should never happen again.
Later after this incident, the Polish Sejm resumed its meeting, approving the Tusk government.
