Today the Sejm received the initiative to appoint a new prime minister and in the evening can vote on the appointment of Donald Tusk.
The Polish government, led by Mateusz Morawiecki, did not receive a vote of confidence in the lower house of the Polish parliament, the Sejm. Ukrinform reported this on Monday, December 11.
Only 190 deputies of the pro-government party voted to give the current government a vote of confidence Law and Justice (PiS). 266 representatives from other parties opposed it.
“This indicates that in light of the failure to receive a majority of votes, the Sejm did not give a vote of confidence to the Council of Ministers,” said Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Golovnya.
He added that the Seimas has now received the initiative to appoint a new prime minister.
It has been reported that this evening the Sejm may vote to appoint Donald Tusk as the new head of government and express confidence in him. In this case, the new government will be sworn in by President Andrzej Duda on Wednesday.
Let’s remember that three days ago Donald Tusk presented the composition of the future Polish government, which could be approved this week.
