At least 17 people were injured as a result of a collision between two Italian trains on the Bologna-Rimini line. It was reported on Sunday, December 10, in the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
It was clarified that the incident happened between the city of Faenza and the community of Forli.
A spokesman for the national train operator said all the victims had minor injuries, mostly bruises.
“The collision occurred at low speed, so serious injuries were avoided,” he said.
Currently, traffic is suspended in the section between the communities of Castel Bolognese and Forli. The carrier warned of delays on high-speed and intercity trains, as well as trains running between regions.
The company emphasized that the employees of the train company have taken care of the passengers, and that the causes of the incident are being investigated.
