The IDF explains why prisoners are stripped to their underwear

Israel says it has killed at least 7,000 Hamas terrorists and plans to kill the Gaza group’s leader, Yahya Sinwar.

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari commented on photos circulating on social media showing dozens of Palestinian men stripped to their underwear after being detained in Gaza. NBC reported this on Sunday, December 10.

He noted that Palestinians were stripped for safety.

“We’ve been doing this for years during conflict because we’ve had cases of people blowing themselves up near our military, so it’s part of the process,” Hagary said.

Hagari added that dozens of those detained were Hamas militants, while many others were uninvolved civilians.

In the Gaza Strip, a large number of the Palestinian Hamas movement surrendered to the Israeli military.

Earlier, the media reported that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar fled the Gaza Strip in a humanitarian convoy truck. Now he is probably hiding in the Palestinian city of Khan Younis or in one of the tunnels below it.
