Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky flew to Argentina after being invited to the inauguration of the new President Javier Miley, which will take place on December 10. The head of state announced this on Telegram on Saturday, December 9.
On the way to Argentina, Zelenskaya visited Cape Verde.
“This meeting is the first in the history of bilateral relations between our countries,” the president said.
He added that the voice of Cape Verde is the voice of democracy, which helps us in the UN, which supports resolutions that are very important for Ukraine.
“I thank Prime Minister Jose Ulisses Correia e Silvi for supporting the humanitarian initiative Grain from Ukraine and invite you to join the implementation of Ukraine’s peace formula,” the head of state wrote.
Zelensky informed the head of the Cape Verdean government about Russia’s unsuccessful attempts to disrupt civilian shipping in the Black Sea, noting that after restarting the alternative “grain corridor” they were able to bring more than 7 million tons of grain.
The leaders of the two countries also paid attention to intensifying relations between Ukraine and African states, strengthening cooperation within the framework of participation in international forums, and also agreed on a schedule of bilateral contacts for the near future.
Zelensky also invited the head of the government of Cape Verde to visit Ukraine.
