The monument to Nikolai Shchors in Kyiv began to be dismantled.

Dismantling work carried out by the capital’s utilities began on Saturday morning, December 9. The monument to the Soviet leader, located in the center of Kyiv, had previously had its protective status removed. The Kiev City State Administration reported this on Telegram.
Since dismantling the structure is not so simple, the capital authorities warned drivers about a possible temporary partial closure of traffic along Taras Shevchenko Boulevard.
The dismantled Shchors monument will be stored in the State Aviation Museum of Ukraine. O. K. Antonova.
Let us recall that on November 10, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to remove from the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Cultural Heritage of National Significance monuments to Pushkin, the Bolshevik leader Nikolai Shchors, as well as a number of other Russian and Soviet figures. Already on November 15, the monument to Pushkin in Kyiv was dismantled.
