Joint Stock Company “Ukroboronprom” and the Estonian manufacturer of robotic platforms Milrem Robotics signed an agreement on the production of robots. The agreement was signed at the First International Forum of Defense Industries DFNC1, which took place in Kyiv on September 29. This was reported by Milrem Robotics.
First, the parties must establish strategic cooperation to determine the needs of the Ukrainian defense forces, as well as how to use robotic platforms on the battlefield. And Estonian specialists will integrate the combat experience of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers into the systems already in Milrem Robotics’ assets, as well as create new products. Ukrainian defense manufacturers will be involved in the process.
Milrem Robotics is also considering the production of a number of different unmanned platforms of the Estonian manufacturer in Ukraine, as well as engineering cooperation on the development of a wheeled robotic combat vehicle.
Among the platforms, Estonians primarily call THeMIS Combat. This is a fire support vehicle that can be equipped with a machine gun, 40 mm grenade launchers, 30 mm automatic cannons or anti-tank missile systems.
There is also an engineering version of the work designed for mine detection and demining and a robotic platform for medical evacuation (CASEVAC).
Let us remind you that in September the Ukrainian combat robot “Lyut” successfully passed field tests. This vehicle is armed with a tank machine gun, has a 360° viewing camera and armor that protects against small arms fire and debris.
