In particular, No. 10203-1 was signed, providing for an increase in the maximum number of staff of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine from 700 to 1 thousand employees. The President also signed Law No. 10262, allowing the NAPC to inspect the property of officials that they acquired for appointment to public office. This is stated on the parliament’s website.
In addition, the head of state agreed on Law No. 10288-1 on taking into account the expert assessment of the Council of Europe and its bodies on the rights of national minorities (communities) in certain areas and Law No. 10060, providing for the withdrawal of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office from the structure of the Office of the Prosecutor General, but partially repealing some norms Lozovoi’s scandalous “edits”.
People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that Zelensky signed the law on SAP, where Lozovoy’s edits were only partially removed. The key norm of “Lozovoy’s amendments” was left there – clause 10, part 1, art. 284 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which states that the basis for closing proceedings after notifying a person of suspicion is the expiration of the pre-trial investigation. Thus, dozens of TOP corruption cases will be at risk of closure.
The adoption of these laws was a requirement of the European Commission, since they are important for the European integration of Ukraine.
