The postwoman used a dog leash to pull the younger man out and then waded into the icy water to help the older man to shore.
In the Zhytomyr region, a postwoman rescued two boys, 10 and 11 years old, who fell through the ice in a river. The State Emergency Service reported this on Friday, December 8.
It is known that the incident happened in the river on the afternoon of December 7. At this time, rescuers received a call that two teenagers had fallen through the ice.
The younger man fell to the ice first. His friend immediately called the elders for help and at the same time helped his friend out of the ice trap. But he miscalculated the strength and ended up in the water.
“The postwoman Tatyana, who lives near the reservoir, heard the cry of a child and immediately rushed to help. Taking a dog’s leash from a woman who was walking her pet nearby, she threw it to the small and with her last strength pulled him to the shore. Then Tatyana climbed into the icy water and helped the older teenager to the shore,” the message said.
When State Emergency Service soldiers arrived at the scene, a security police officer carried the second man in his arms to the shore, where he handed him over to rescuers. State Emergency Service workers took both men to emergency doctors.
Earlier it was reported that in the Zhytomyr region a pregnant woman fell through the ice.
