Vladimir Zelensky congratulated the Jewish community on the Hanukkah holiday and emphasized: this holiday is about the victory of courage.
In honor of the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, President Vladimir Zelensky, together with representatives of the Jewish clergy of Ukraine, took part in the ceremony of lighting Hanukkah candles. This was reported by the presidential press service.
Chief Rabbi of Dnepr Shmuel Kaminetsky lit the large central Chanukkiah candle and recited a blessing in Hebrew. After this, a lamp is lit on Hanukkiah. Shmuel Kaminetsky recalled the significance of the Hanukkah holiday, which symbolizes the possibility of a miracle.
The Chairman of the Council of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine Rabbi Meyer Stambler also noted that the main message of Hanukkah is to tell the world about miracles and said that Zelensky can “tell the world about the miracle of Ukraine.”
For his part, Vladimir Zelensky congratulated the Jewish community on the Hanukkah holiday.
“This holiday is about the victory of fortitude. And this is the most important thing. I wish you all, we and all those who are always on the side of light, on the side of Ukraine and people, on the side of life – Hanukkah and success,” the president emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that Zelensky fired his deputy from the Verkhovna Rada. Fyodor Venislavsky will no longer serve as the president’s representative in parliament.
