This has had a significant impact on the Ukrainian economy, especially increasing pressure on the state’s gold and foreign exchange reserves.
Exporters did not return about $8 billion in foreign exchange earnings to Ukraine. This was said on Thursday, December 7, by the head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Andriy Pyshny, at the annual forum of corporate directors of the Professional Association of Corporate Governance, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, some exporters delayed the return period for the maximum possible time. At the same time, as Pyshny pointed out, compared to a year earlier, the situation in this regard has improved. However, as he stressed, some traders do not return all proceeds.
“We will do everything to ensure that export earnings return to Ukraine. Today, its non-return amounts to eight billion dollars, if not more. These eight billion dollars – where are they? What taxes have been received of Ukrainians from them?” – said Lush.
He clarified that the government is currently shortening the period for the return of foreign currency earnings for agricultural exports, and the National Bank will continue to support the Cabinet of Ministers in this regard, due to the importance of “grain ” that corridor, especially for the balance of Ukraine. of payments.
Pyshny added that the NBU will strengthen tax and customs cooperation to strengthen financial control over exporters.
“The National Bank sees all operations and will see more. Along with the restrictions introduced, we are now building a new communication system with the State Customs Service and the State Tax Service. All this is done for one purpose: export earnings, gold and foreign exchange reserves,” Pyshny emphasized.
During the nine months of 2023, risky enterprises exported grain of “unknown origin” from Ukraine in the amount of UAH 133.9 billion, which is more than 20% of the total amount.
Ukrzaliznytsia does not expect an increase in the cost of cargo transportation by 20% from January 1. But the company may index them due to the increase in the cost of some parts of the railway.
