Slovak carriers say that if their demands are not met, they will block traffic at the checkpoint in both directions.
Slovak carriers threaten to block the Vyshne Nemecke – Uzhhorod checkpoint in both directions. The final decision is scheduled to be made on Thursday, December 7. The Union of Road Carriers of Slovakia (UNAS) reported this on Facebook.
The carriers said that if the issue of eliminating the permit system for Ukrainians is not resolved, they are ready to completely block the Ukrainian border checkpoint.
“That is why the UNAS remains in a state of readiness for a strike, and if there is no other alternative to resolve the situation, the UNAS is ready to completely block the Vyshne Nemetskoe – Uzhgorod border point in both directions,” said of the statement.
The carriers also added that on Thursday, December 7, they will meet with Slovakia’s Minister of Transportation, Josef Raj, to find a solution to this situation.
We remind you that the Transcarpathian customs reported that the blockade of the Uzhgorod-Vysne Nemecke checkpoint on the border with Slovakia did not have a significant impact on their work, because even during the protest, almost two hundred trucks were allowed through of the border each day.
We previously reported that traffic for trucks through the Vyshne Nemetskoye checkpoint, located opposite the Ukrainian checkpoint Uzhgorod, was unblocked.
