The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide Ukraine with 20 thousand tons of metal to protect energy facilities from Russian attacks. This was reported by the State Agency for Reconstruction and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.
The metal supply project is being implemented by Tetra Tech ES, which is a USAID contractor under a previously signed memorandum of understanding. The company bought metal from a Ukrainian manufacturer, after which it was brought to construction, where the first batch is already in use.

The State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development of Ukraine recalled that the concrete structures around the main network of Ukrenergo have been built since March 2023.
The decision to protect energy facilities was made by the government and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The agency cooperates with NEC Ukrenergo, which develops design and construction works.
“The design uses preliminary data from the General Staff, guidance for engineering troops and international regulatory documents received from specialized specialists during training in the UK according to UK and USA regulations and standards,” said of the statement.
