Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen said the state intends to start producing ammunition for Ukraine. He said this in an interview with Iltalehti newspaper.
“We have completed negotiations on how Finland will increase the production of ammunition for arming Ukraine. This decision will be made in the near future,” Häkkänen said.
The issue will likely be resolved by Christmas, he said.
“The plans are ready. A plan is now being published to significantly increase the production of ammunition. The intention is to support Ukraine even more than now. At the same time, we will further increase the readiness of Finland and the Nordic countries for in the manufacture of ammunition,” said Häkkänen.
He added that the production of ammunition will increase by tens of millions of euros.
We remind you that the Finnish government has made changes to the budget for next year, providing for an increase in aid to Ukraine by more than 95 million euros.
Earlier it was reported that Finland transferred the 20th package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 100 million euros.
