During two years of war, these characteristics remained virtually unchanged. This is evidenced by the results of a survey of sociologists from the Rating group.
Only 36% of respondents believe that even during war one should try to live a full life. More often, this opinion is shared by Kiev residents and residents of de-occupied territories.
Also, the answers usually differ among respondents of all ages and incomes: self-restraint is more often supported by older people with lower incomes, while younger and wealthy people want to live a full life.
Every second person in Ukraine today does not make any plans in advance at all. Over the past year, the number of Ukrainians planning their lives for the long term (several years) has decreased from 19% to 12%. Another 15% plan their lives for six months to a year, 22% – for no more than a few months. Residents of Kyiv, young and middle-aged people, as well as wealthier citizens are planning their lives for a longer period.
About 80% of Ukrainians feel safe in their locality. Residents of front-line and de-occupied regions, as well as middle-aged and older people, city residents and less wealthy citizens feel the least safe.
In addition, about 75% of Ukrainians were preparing for possible problems with energy supply in winter.
This was done most intensively by Kiev residents, young and middle-aged people, as well as wealthier citizens. The most popular activities are the purchase of flashlights, batteries, accumulators and generators, as well as the preparation of food supplies and drinking water.
The sociological group “Rating” interviewed 1 thousand respondents in telephone interviews using a computer based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers.
