Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Latvian President Edgars Rinkevich and Polish President Andrzej Duda refused to be photographed with Alexander Lukashenko at the UN climate change conference COP28 in Dubai, BNS reports.
It would be hypocritical to stand side by side with the head of state, who became the springboard for Russian aggression against Ukraine, and discuss the future of the world and climate change as if nothing had happened. The Belarusian regime contributes to the destruction of the future world and, together with Russia, is responsible for what is happening in Ukraine – from the loss of life to the catastrophic impact on the environment, Nausedi said in his commentary.
According to him, such photographs “are called family photos.”
Lukashenko “is not part of the family we want to belong to,” he noted.
For the joint photo, Lukashenko was placed in the lower left corner, standing next to Turkish President Erdogan.
