With the onset of winter, the incidence of coronavirus disease COVID-19 is increasing in Ukraine. In three regions, the number of patients has already exceeded the epidemic threshold, so restrictive anti-epidemic measures may be introduced there.

The chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine, Igor Kuzin, announced this on air at a national telethon, reports the Ukrayinska Pravda publication.
The epidemic threshold has been exceeded in the following areas:
- Ternopil;
- Zhytomyr;
- Chernivtsi.
The indicators there are already above standard for this period. That is, these regions can already introduce certain restrictive anti-epidemic measures,” Kuzin emphasized.
According to him, 14 strains of COVID-19 are circulating in Ukraine, and in the last week alone the number of patients has increased by 20% compared to the previous one.
On average, 4,200 patients are hospitalized in Ukraine every week. Both resuscitation cases and deaths are recorded. Over the past week, 56 people died from coronavirus infection, including one child, he noted.
In general, among all cases of morbidity, COVID-19 now accounts for up to 35%; almost 50% of cases of coronavirus morbidity and hospitalizations occur in children.
In total, more than a million Ukrainians have been ill with influenza and coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic season. Kuzin urges Ukrainians to get vaccinated.
