On November 29, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, together with its partners, presented an information and communication system for recording the immovable cultural heritage of Ukraine, the State Register of Immovable Monument of Ukraine – ePamyatka. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.
There are currently 105,532 attractions on the register. єMemoir will allow us to create a single set of data on all cultural heritages of Ukraine, including those currently located in the temporarily occupied territories.
According to VO Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Rostislav Karandeev, the launch of the Memoir will streamline the process of protecting cultural monuments in Ukraine and make it transparent. Access to information will be clearer, simpler and more open for people who use management solutions to carry out business activities.
Information system development The State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine is in the final stage of implementation. Starting January 1, the Ministry of Culture will present this information system to the majority of users.
It is expected that the introduction of the register will prevent chaotic development in the historical areas of the cities, especially during the post-war reconstruction, as well as optimization of the processes of protecting monuments in Ukraine.
As reported, in July 2023, 664 cultural heritage sites were damaged as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Let us remind you that the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine is starting to remove monuments to Russian and Soviet figures from the state register of immovable monuments of cultural heritage of national importance.
