A storm in Crimea demolished the barriers that protected the Kerch Bridge and Sevastopol Bay from Ukrainian attacks.

These occupier barriers were either washed away due to a storm at sea or were removed by the Russians to prevent any harm to them. The storm filled the water with silt, making it difficult to determine the status of the installed protections. This is evidenced by satellite images, OSINT researcher Brian said on Twitter.

According to the specialist, the Russian army installed booms to protect the bridge from attacks by surface drones near the Kerch-Yenikale canal, under the Kerch Bridge. They look like spiked barriers and were intended to prevent attacks from Ukraine. Previously, the Russians easily removed barriers to allow the passage of ships. The same “protection” was washed away by a storm in the area of Sevastopol Bay.

The Russians secured the barrier with cable. This ensured that the arrows stayed in place. In addition, this allowed the invaders to easily control the change in the position of the barriers.

Thus, we can come to the conclusion that these defense networks provided the fleet in Crimea with a certain degree of security, but now it is very vulnerable to drone attacks from Ukraine, the expert notes.

Let us recall that the American Institute for the Study of War stated that a powerful storm in the Black Sea forced the Russian command to temporarily return all its naval ships and launch vehicles to their home bases. However, due to the storm, the enemy’s minefields were scattered and the occupiers’ mines are now drifting throughout the northwestern Black Sea.
