Ukraine is determined to complete the legislative measures specified in the European Commission’s report in the near future, the spokesperson said.
The Verkhovna Rada will adopt bills recommended in the European Commission’s report and necessary to start negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said this at the conference of Presidents of the European Parliament on Tuesday in Brussels, the press service of the Rada reported on Tuesday, November 28.
“Ukraine fulfills its obligations in full. Ukraine is committed to further reforms and is determined to complete as soon as possible the legislative measures specified in the EC report as part of the enlargement package,” Stefanchuk said.
He recalled that last week the parliament adopted bills to strengthen the NABU and expand the powers of the NACP.
“We are working with the government to implement other recommendations of the commission’s report and hope that the European Council will accept the European Commission’s recommendation and approve the start of accession negotiations with Ukraine in early December this year, ” emphasized the speaker.
Let’s recall that on November 8, the European Commission published its annual report on EU enlargement, in which it recommended that the European Council begin accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova. The final decision should be in mid-December.
At the same time, the media reported that negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU are under threat.
