Polish volunteers began delivering hot food to Ukrainian drivers blocked at the border.
In particular, we are talking about the Fundacja Humanitarna Folkowisko.
Its representative Marcin Piotrkowski published several photos and videos from the border and stated that “the lack of reaction from the Polish authorities is terrible.”
He also noted that from November 27 the strike will be intensified; the protesters announced that only one truck would be allowed in every three hours. This means that only 32 trucks will leave Poland.
Piotrkowski writes that the situation on the sides of border roads is getting worse, it’s difficult to drive safely, because truck queues in some places reach up to 70 km from the border. Drivers spend year-round in forests and fields.
Polish strikers plan to block the movement of trucks in the direction of the Medika-Shegini checkpoints around the clock, the State Tax Service reported on November 27.
According to information provided to Ukrainian border guards by their Polish colleagues, a public action to block the movement of trucks near the Polish checkpoint “Medika”, which is opposite the Ukrainian checkpoint “Shegini”, on November 27 can take place around the clock.
Let us recall that before this, from November 23 to 26, strikers limited the movement of freight transport from 9.00 to 20.00.
As of Monday morning, there were 1.4 thousand freight vehicles in queues in this direction on the territory of Poland towards Ukraine.
It should be noted that the protesters are currently blocking traffic in four directions across the Ukrainian-Polish border, where the passage of vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tons with cargo is ensured.
In particular, since November 6, strikers have significantly slowed down the movement of trucks through the checkpoints “Korcheva – Krakovets”, “Grebnoye – Rava-Russkaya” and “Dorogusk – Yagodin”. This morning there were 2,100 trucks in queues in these directions towards Ukraine.
On November 23, actions began during which the movement of trucks through the Medika-Shegini checkpoint was limited during the daytime hours. From today, as noted above, this blocking may become 24/7.
