Surface drones were used by the intelligence service not only to attack Russian warships and vessels, but also to attack the Crimean Bridge. The successful use of naval drones has significantly changed not only the approach to naval operations, but also the philosophy of war in general. The head of the SBU, Vasily Malyuk, spoke about this in the first episode of the series of documentaries “SBU. Special operation of victory,” reports the press center of the special service.
According to the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, in October 2022, sea drones of the Security Service of Ukraine attacked enemy ships in the Sevastopol Bay. Then four military vessels were damaged, including the frigate Admiral Makarov.
And in 2023, the following were amazed by the “sea babies”:
- launch vehicle “Samum”;
- launch vehicle “Pavel Derzhavin”;
- tanker “SIG”;
- landing ship “Olenegorsky Miner”;
- large military tug “Nikolai Mur”;
- the newest reconnaissance and hydrographic ship “Vladimir Kozitsky”.
The baby noted that “Sea Baby” is not just a naval drone, but a multi-purpose platform that is actively used today for various tasks.
Let us remind you that the SBU stated that during the attack on the Crimean Bridge, the special service used personal communications to operate SeaBaby sea drones. The “sea kids” were led by a team from Kyiv during the attack on the bridge, and the distance to the object was more than 900 km.
