A local 30-year-old man walked the streets of the city for several weeks and secretly photographed the bases and routes of movement of the Defense Forces. Thus, he tried to identify locations with the greatest concentration of military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the Security Service, the court sentenced the attacker to 15 years in prison.
As the investigation established, the traitor actively supported Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine on Russian social networks. During the search, his phone was confiscated, which he used for covert photographic recording and correspondence with the aggressor.
Based on the evidence collected, the court found the FSB agent guilty under Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The Russian agent also scouted the area around the most important industrial facilities to determine their level of security and technical condition.
The aggressor needed the intelligence information for targeted attacks on the regional center using missiles and kamikaze drones.
SBU officers detained a traitorous spy while he was carrying out a hostile mission and thwarted Muscovite plans to carry out a series of air attacks on the city.
