Now the Ukrainian side is trying to negotiate only with the heads of the Polish voivodeships.
The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine will discuss the unblocking of the border with Poland with the new government of this country. Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Sergei Derkach said this in a telethon on Thursday, November 23.
According to him, the Ukrainian side is now trying to negotiate with the heads of the Polish voivodeships, and is also helping our drivers on various issues.
“Yesterday we sent official requests to the governors from Lublin and Podkarpackie Voivodeship so that they provide the necessary conditions for our drivers. At least this way. And we will probably talk about unblocking to the new government,” said Derkach.
As you know, after the parliamentary elections in Poland, President Andrzej Duda instructed Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki to form a new government. But the opposition got a majority of votes, created a coalition and agreed to elect Donald Tusk as the new Prime Minister. The real change of government power in Poland is expected in mid-December.
We remind you that since November 6, on the Ukrainian-Polish border, due to a strike, the movement of trucks at the Krakovets-Korcheva, Rava-Russkaya-Grebnoye and Yagodin-Dorogusk checkpoints has been difficult. There are thousands of trucks in the queue. And now the strikers blocked the fourth checkpoint for trucks – Shegini. Polish transporters demand the abolition of transport cargo for Ukraine.
Earlier, the media reported that Poland faced sanctions from the EU for blocking the Ukrainian border.
