The National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria today, November 22, ratified the corresponding agreement between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The Ukrainian defense department reported this on Telegram.
According to The Sofia Globe, the decision to transfer the armored personnel carrier to Ukraine was supported by 152 deputies from the coalition represented by the forces – GERB-SDS, “Continue to change – Democratic Bulgaria”, “Movement for Rights and Freedoms” and “There is such a people”. The socialists and the pro-Russian Revival party voted against.
It is noted that the government and parliament of Bulgaria voted on August 4 to transfer to Ukraine almost 100 armored personnel carriers manufactured in the 60s and 70s and which were the property of the Bulgarian Ministry of Internal Affairs. These armored vehicles were never used by the department.
Let us recall that in September the Bulgarian authorities decided to transfer military aid to Ukraine, including faulty S-300 anti-aircraft missiles and ammunition for automatic small arms. Bulgaria tried to independently repair these missiles in the period 2020-22, but there were no special production lines for this. Kyiv told Sofia that it was interested in these missiles.
