On Tuesday, November 21, the Verkhovna Rada, with the votes of 251 parliamentarians, supported bill No. 5456-d. This document, in particular, proposes changes to the law “On the Judicial System and Status of Judges.” People’s Deputy Alexey Goncharenko reported this on Telegram.
According to him, Supreme Court judges will continue to perform their duties until they are dismissed or terminated. The Chairman of the Supreme Court will have the right to transfer judges to the Court of Cassation.
Goncharenko added that judges of higher specialized courts should be checked by the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine on issues of competence, professional ethics and virtue.
Let us recall that on November 21, the Verkhovna Rada, with the votes of 323 people’s representatives, supported in the first reading, as a basis, bill No. 10203-1, which provides for an increase in the NABU staff by 300 employees – up to 1 thousand people.
