The defense forces will be given four IRIS-T systems, 20 thousand 155-mm caliber shells, anti-tank mines and other weapons. This is already the fifth aid package that Berlin has issued to Ukraine since last winter. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced this on November 21 at a joint briefing with the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Rustem Umerov.
I am confident that he will help you in your fight against Russian aggression, the minister said.
In a conversation with reporters, Pistorius noted that there is currently no new information about the supply of Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine. The official assured that next year Germany plans to supply Ukraine with 140 thousand 155-mm shells.
Let us remind you that on November 21, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit. This is Pistorius’s second visit to Ukraine since taking office as defense minister in January 2023. The previous time he was in Ukraine was in February.
