US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was asked in Kyiv to comment on the words of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius that long-range Taurus missiles cannot change the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine.

We have repeatedly said that there is no “magic ball” in a conflict such as this. It’s all about delivering the right capabilities and how those capabilities are integrated in the right way so you can create the right consequences on the battlefield, Austin said.
Austin believes that this applies to all weapons that Ukraine has received or may receive – from HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems to F-16 fighter jets.
In early November, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Kyiv still expects to receive long-range Taurus missiles from Germany. However, German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jäger said in an interview with European Pravda that Berlin will not yet supply long-range missiles to Kyiv.
The United States will be able to provide Ukraine with long-range weapons and ammunition.
