Joe Biden has written an op-ed reflecting on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Israeli-Hamas war, and America’s role in the world order.

The modern world is at a turning point where decisions made by politicians will determine the direction for future generations. At the same time, he put Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Islamist terrorist group Hamas on the same level. The American leader wrote this on Saturday, November 18, in a column for the Washington Post.

“Both Putin and Hamas are fighting to wipe neighboring democracies off the map. Both Putin and Hamas hope to destabilize the broader stability and integration of the region and take advantage of the chaos. America will not and will not allow this to happen. For our national security and for the good of the world,” Biden said.

The American leader mentioned that the United States is called upon to unite allies and partners to counter aggressors and make progress towards a brighter and more peaceful future.

He emphasized, “if the United States walks away from the current challenges today, the risk of conflicts can spread, and the costs of solving them will only grow.”

“This belief is the basis for my approach to supporting the people of Ukraine as they continue to defend their freedom from Putin’s brutal war,” Biden said.

He emphasized that the United States does not allow American troops to participate in the Russian-Ukrainian war, but provides weapons and economic aid to prevent Putin’s desire for conquest and the spread of the conflict.

“We know from the two world wars of the last century that when aggression in Europe goes unanswered, the crisis does not burn itself out. It directly involves America. Therefore, our devotion to Ukraine today is an investment in our own security. It prevents a wider conflict tomorrow,” Joe Biden stressed.

The United States Congress will approve a new aid package for Ukraine, but the path to this decision could be “messy,” said Democratic US Senator Jeanne Shaheen.

As reported, Ukraine and the United States will develop a plan for joint production of weapons, including air defense systems.
