A group of Russians disobeyed the orders of the border guard and tried to force their way into Finland.
Finnish border guards on the border with the Russian Federation used gas against a group of people who tried to enter Finland on bicycles and on foot. The incident occurred on the night of Friday, November 17, Yle reported.
According to the deputy head of the North Karelia Border Guard in Finland, Samuli Murtonen, the group disobeyed the border guard’s order.
“To control the situation, we had to use the best method, which was gas spraying,” the official said.
It was noted that a group of 30 people arrived at the Russian border on Friday night on foot and on bicycles. They tried to cross the border, one was trying to get past the border guard. Samuli Murtonen added that the victim was examined by doctors and given first aid.
