Queues of trucks at the Slovak border in the Transcarpathian region have increased sharply.

The queue increased due to trucks from the Polish direction. As of November 16, there were 900 vehicles at the Uzhgorod checkpoint on the Slovak border. However, the line is gradually moving, because customs officers are processing 250 cars each. This figure reflects the daily throughput of the checkpoint. The number of cars crossing the border per day has not changed. Press secretary of Transcarpathian customs Victoria Sengetovskaya reported this in a comment to Ukrinform.
Now trucks continue to arrive from checkpoints on the Polish border, so the queue is growing. From the Yagodin checkpoint in the Volyn region, cars need to travel an additional 600 km. At the Slovak border you can get to Ukraine in three or four days, but at the border in Poland you have to stand in line for two weeks.
Transcarpathian customs officers also send drivers to the Hungarian checkpoint “Tysa”, where there is more customs capacity. However, the overwhelming number of truckers choose the Uzhgorod checkpoint on the Slovak border.
Let us recall that on November 16, Brussels announced that the European Union would not cancel the “transport visa-free” regime for Ukraine at the request of Polish carriers. The European Commission may punish Poland for blocking the border with Ukraine.
