A tariff increase is expected in 2024, but the decision must be balanced with the new price.
In 2024, the electricity tariff for the population of Ukraine may increase by 15% – up to 3 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour. The head of the National Commission for State Regulation in the Fields of Energy and Utilities (NCREKU), Konstantin Ushchapovsky, said this on Friday, November 17, in an interview with Economic Pravda.

According to him, during the heating period the price of electricity for the population remains unchanged.
“My personal opinion is that until the successful completion of the autumn-winter season we cannot talk about raising tariffs,” he said.
According to the head of NEURC, a tariff increase is expected in 2024, but the decision must be balanced with the new price.
“I think we will propose some solutions, but they will go through the whole procedure: from public discussions, where we will listen to all sides, until making a final decision. If we take the next step , it should be balanced, a maximum of 15%. This we expect somewhere up to 3 hryvnia per kilowatt-hour,” said Ushchapovsky.
At the same time, he noted that the current market tariff for electricity is about 5.5-5.8 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour without VAT.
Let us remind you that from June 1, the Cabinet of Ministers increased electricity tariffs for the population to 2.64 UAH/kWh. And on June 30, the price of electricity for business increased significantly in Ukraine.
Energy Minister German Galushchenko called this step forced and linked it to the preparation of the Ukrainian energy system for next winter.
