US President Joe Biden said “real progress” was being made in a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. He made a corresponding statement on social networks X following negotiations on Wednesday, November 15.
“I appreciate my conversation today with President Xi because I believe it is most important that we clearly understand each other as leader of leader. There are critical challenges around the world that require our shared leadership. And today we have done true progress,” he said in Biden’s message.
At the White House reportedthat “the leaders of the two countries held a frank and constructive discussion on several bilateral and international issues.”
It also added that Biden and Xi “exchanged views on issues where there are differences.”
It was previously reported that Biden met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in San Francisco.
The White House noted that the American leader will try to restore military ties with China. This is the main item on the agenda for Biden’s meeting with Xi Jinping.
