The ex-deputy was dismissed from his position as a professor, teacher of the Ukrainian language department of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
National University Lviv Polytechnic removed Irina Farion from her position as a professor in the Ukrainian language department amid her accusations against the military that they were speaking Russian. RBC-Ukraine reported this on November 15, citing sources.
It was noted that the reason for the dismissal was the opening of criminal proceedings against Farion under a number of articles.
“The reason is Farion’s violation of Article 41 of the Labor Code: the commission of an employee performing educational duties of an immoral offense incompatible with the continuation of this work,” the sources explained.
The dismissal order was approved by the rector of Lviv Polytechnic Yuriy Bobalo.
Farion was about to be fired reacted Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi on the social network X. He noted that in Ukraine students are the driving force of innovation and change.
“The position of the ministry has not changed – people who do not share the values of dignity and do not feel respect for soldiers have no place in the education system. I hope that the SBU, within the framework of open proceedings criminally, will provide a fair assessment of the statements and actions of the former teacher of the Lviv Polytechnic,” he wrote.
Let’s recall that recently in one of his interviews Farion said that he definitely does not accept the Russian-speaking military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and they cannot be called Ukrainians. This caused a wave of anger among Ukrainian defenders and the entire country as a whole.
Later, Farion published a message on the social network with a screenshot of a message from a pro-Ukrainian student from the temporarily occupied Crimea, which included his personal information. After that, the Russian intelligence services began to persecute him and forced him to apologize.
On November 14, students of Lviv Polytechnic held a rally outside the university’s main building, demanding Farion’s dismissal. On November 15, criminal proceedings were initiated against the former MP.
