Ukraine cannot afford a stalemate on the front, President Vladimir Zelensky emphasized.
Ukraine cannot afford a “frozen conflict” with a stalemate, so it must end. President Vladimir Zelensky announced this at a meeting with African journalists on Wednesday, November 15, in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“If this is a stalemate and a frozen conflict, we must honestly say that our children will fight. Or our grandchildren will fight. We have already lost so many people. Do we want to live like this , we know that we will raise children who will surely fight later? – he stressed.
According to Zelensky, “the stalemate is a temporary weakness.” “If we want to end the war, we must end it,” the president said.
According to the head of state, this end may be different, but it is necessary, and “evil must suffer.”
Zelensky explained that at the end of the war he understood the situation when Russia would start to respect the territorial integrity and the UN Charter and withdraw its troops from the territory of Ukraine.
“Yes, this is not yet the return of justice, because something needs to be done about what they did here. It will not solve all the issues, but it is definitely the end of the war,” the president said.
Let’s recall that earlier the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, in an interview with The Economist, announced a “deadlock” at the front and a transition to trench warfare. In his opinion, it is beneficial to Russia. Zelensky said that he does not consider the current situation at the front a stalemate.
