The ideas of Gasparyan’s book were used by the highest political and military leadership of the Russian Federation to justify the armed aggression against Ukraine.
Today, November 14, Kyiv’s Shevchenkovsky District Court found Russian propagandist Armen Gasparyan guilty of public calls for genocide of the Ukrainian people and sentenced him to 10 years in prison. This was announced by the prosecutor of the Prosecutor General’s Office Alexander Safaryan, who represents the state prosecution in this case, writes Ukrinform.
The court confirmed that in his book “Denazification of Ukraine. Land of Unlearned Lessons,” Gasparyan promoted allegations about the unachievability of the continued existence of the Ukrainian state, about the inferiority and second-class status of the Ukrainian nation , and also called on the Russian authorities to carry out the so-called “denazification” of Ukraine, especially through military actions on its territory and the exercise of complete control from the outside.
Gasparyan pointed out the need to start the proposed “denazification” from the borders of the so-called “DPR” and “LPR” with further continuation throughout the territory of Ukraine. Among his ideas was the construction of internment and concentration camps for Ukrainians, as well as the extermination of Ukrainians as a nation.
It was reported that the ideas of Gasparyan’s book were used by the top political and military leadership of the Russian Federation to justify armed aggression against Ukraine, and the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation purchased this book to study and used by employees.
We remind you that the Russian journalist and publicist Armen Gasparyan received the first suspicion in Ukraine of public calls for the genocide of the Ukrainian people. The suspicion was announced to him in absentia in April 2022.
