The new funding will help EU humanitarian partners provide vital social services to Ukrainians.
The European Commission has announced the allocation of an additional 110 million euros for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. This was reported on the EC website on Tuesday, November 14.
“As Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, the humanitarian situation in the country remains dire. The onset of winter creates additional challenges for vulnerable communities affected by the war. Thus, the commission will allocate 110 million euros for humanitarian aid, of which 100 million euros will go to Ukraine , and 10 million euros – to support Ukrainian refugees and host communities in Moldova,” the statement said.
It said the new funding will help EU humanitarian partners provide essential services such as cash assistance, food, water, shelter, health care, psychosocial support and protection.
According to the latest data, the total amount of EU humanitarian assistance in response to Russia’s war in Ukraine reached 843 million euros.
In addition, the EU will transfer another 84 power generators from its strategic reserves. In total, more than 5,000 power generators were sent to Ukraine through the EU’s civil protection mechanism.
Brussels is also coordinating private sector donations for the supply of energy equipment to Ukraine.
We remind you that Norway will finance humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the amount of 84 million euros. The money will go through Nansen’s multi-year support program.
