Participants in the demonstration are dismissing the teacher, and their demand is related to the teacher’s negative statement about the Russian-speaking Ukrainian military. Radio Liberty reports this.
Dozens of people came out to the walls of the university, holding posters with the inscriptions “Down with the communist Farion” and “It’s easy to hide behind patriotism when the military has your back.” The protesters also chanted “Farion”. Then the protesters went inside the building, where they chanted: “Education – without communists.”
Let us remind you that Irina Farion has recently found herself in serious scandals. Thus, Farion stated that she could not call the fighters of “Azov” and the 3rd assault brigade Ukrainians if they did not speak Ukrainian. This caused a lot of anger online towards the ex-deputy, and Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets appealed to the police, the SBU and the National Council on television because of the linguist’s statement.
And on November 8, Farion published a screenshot of an email with open personal data of a student from Crimea, supported by a linguist about the importance of the Ukrainian language. After this, the Russian special services and security forces took care of the boy.
