Mateusz Morawiecki will try to form a government majority, but knows in advance that there will not be enough votes in the parliament for this.
The representative of the Polish Law and Justice party, which formally won the election, Mateusz Morawiecki received instructions from President Andrzej Duda to form a new government. RMF 24 reported this on Monday, November 13.
At the same time, Duda said that he made this decision after analysis and consultations and added that the last eight years have been good for Poland.
On the same day, Morawiecki, as head of the previous government, resigned.
After his appointment, Duda swore in Morawiecki. Now the prime minister will try to form a majority government. He also called on the parties that entered the parliament to cooperate in the formation of the new government. However, neither the opposition forces nor the anti-Ukrainian Confederation party intends to unite with the Law and Justice party to form a government.
It was previously reported that on November 13, the newly elected Polish parliament convened for its first meeting. He was elected marshal of the lower house of the Polish parliament (Sejm). This is the leader of the Poland 2050 party, Szymon Gołownia.
We remind you that pro-European parties in Poland have created a coalition that will form a government if and when the Law and Justice party does not have enough votes in parliament for it.
