Ukraine has sufficient energy resources, but attacks could cause supply problems.
In winter, Ukraine will have enough energy resources. In addition, the authorities have an understanding of what to do in the event of new massive attacks in the energy sector. Right now, the Russians are waiting for the frost to begin attacking Ukraine’s energy sector. Energy Minister German Galushchenko said this at the telethon.
“We have enough energy resources, in this regard we feel calm. The question is how many future attacks can affect the supplies,” he said.
However, Galushchenko added that, due to the experience of last winter, the authorities have different ways to solve the problem.
The minister also suggested that the Russians would launch a massive missile attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure when the air temperature remains below zero for a long time.
“It seems that they are waiting for a significant drop in temperature so that it remains in the minus for a long time, and then they will strike. In this case, of course, the low temperature causes damage. In fact, there is no mark here, any minus temperatures increase the risks,” the minister said.
Galushchenko added that the Russians did not stop attacking the energy infrastructure even in the summer.
“They didn’t really stop the attacks, they attacked in the summer. We didn’t detail the information about what things we were talking about and what the consequences were,” he said.
At the same time, according to Galushchenko, today there is no massive attack like on October 10 last year, when the Russians used about 100 missiles. At the same time, the minister noted that there is information about preparations for such attacks.
It was previously reported that in recent weeks the Russian Federation has attacked energy facilities 60 times with various types of weapons.
Last year, hackers shut down some of Ukraine’s substations
