Commissioner of the Human Rights Council Dmitry Lubinets appealed to the police, the SBU and the National Council on television because of a statement by ex-deputy Irina Farion. He wrote about this on his social networks on November 7.

In the program of journalist Yanina Sokolova on Channel 5, Farion stated that she cannot consider the Russian-speaking fighters of Azov and the Third Assault Brigade as Ukrainians if they cannot learn Ukrainian.
Let them call themselves Russians then. Why were they so freaked out? They are such patriots, show your patriotism – learn the language of Taras Grigorievich Shevchenko,” Farion said.
Dmitry Lubinets called this discrimination and harassment that has signs of a criminal offense. Although the Ombudsman does not directly name Farion, his appeal to the National Council and the mention of the military directly indicate his interview.
Lubinets notes that men and women from different groups of society, different national communities, different religions and beliefs serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
