An ex-parliamentarian suspected of embezzling UAH 307 million from the Ministry of Defense during the construction of warehouses was placed under round-the-clock house arrest. With this, the court partially granted the request of the NABU detectives. The press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office reported this on November 6.
The former people’s deputy is also entrusted with relevant procedural responsibilities. Nikita must surrender his passports to travel abroad, come to the investigator upon request and not communicate with other persons involved in the proceedings.
The court sent the assistant of the ex-people’s deputy into custody with the alternative of paying 19 million UAH. collateral, and assigned a collateral in the amount of 805 thousand UAH to the director of the contracting organization. Two servicemen were assigned bail in the amount of 53 thousand UAH and 214 thousand UAH, respectively. Another military man was given a preventive measure in the form of a personal commitment.
Let us remind you that in October, former People’s Deputy Maxim Nikitas, ex-first deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and four people were suspected of embezzling UAH 307 million from the Ministry of Defense, which was intended for the construction of military warehouses.
