According to my information, on November 4, at the time of the explosions, there was only one ship in Kerch capable of carrying Caliber class missiles, namely the Askold. I think that this ship, as we see, was already at the pier and was being brought to life, because it should be delivered in December. It can be seen that it is still afloat, but the upper part of the vessel is noticeably damaged,” Andrei Ryzhenko, captain of the 1st rank of the Navy Reserve, told Schemes in a commentary after analyzing the satellite image.
He added that Askold is a small 22800 missile ship of the Karakurt type, which can carry up to 8 Caliber missiles. The neutralization of such a vessel, according to Ryzhenko, is very important for the security of Ukraine.
On November 4, in the Kerch region in occupied Crimea, the sounds of missiles flying and explosions were heard, a correspondent for the Radio Liberty Crimea.Realities project reported.
In addition, local public pages, citing eyewitnesses, wrote about smoke in the area of the Zaliv shipyard in Kerch.
Subsequently, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed damage to the ship at the shipyard in Kerch as a result of a missile strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine also confirmed that on November 4, they damaged the Zaliv shipyard in the occupied Crimea, in the city of Kerch.
Later, the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk, added that on the territory of the plant there was one of the most “modern” ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet – a carrier of Caliber cruise missiles.
