The prosecutor’s office has begun criminal proceedings in connection with the release of a video of an incident with a serviceman at the district police department in Kyiv.

The press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reported this today, November 5.
Information has been distributed on the Internet about the detention of a serviceman by employees of the Shevchenko police department of the State Emergency Department in the city and their commission of illegal actions related to causing bodily harm to the serviceman, the message says. “A video was also released from the premises of the territorial police department, which shows the moment the soldier fell to the floor.
It is noted that information about this incident was included in the ERDR under Part 2 of Art. 365 of the Criminal Code – abuse of power or official authority. Measures are being taken to establish the circumstances of the incident, its participants and possible witnesses.
Also, recordings from CCTV cameras at the Shevchenko police department will be reviewed, the prosecutor’s office adds.
Earlier, a video appeared on social networks that allegedly showed the beating in the police department of a military border guard who was seriously wounded at the front and was undergoing a military medical commission in Kiev. It was noted that after passing the commission, the military man went to the station, where he was detained by police for violating the curfew.
Subsequently, the Kyiv police reported that an internal investigation had been launched into the conflict between the policeman and the border guard and published their video version of the incident.
Police say the incident occurred on the night of November 3.
