The Secretary of State pointed to the need to prevent any state or non-state entity from creating a new front in the current conflict.
US authorities do not support a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, but support humanitarian pauses. America’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this yesterday in a meeting with the foreign ministers of the main Arab countries in Jordan.
“We believe that a ceasefire will only allow Hamas to stay and regroup and repeat what it did on October 7,” the State Department chief said.
At the same time, Blinken emphasized the importance of greater efforts to protect the civilian population of the Gaza Strip. In his opinion, this task should be made easier by humane stops.
The Secretary of State also pointed to the need to prevent the creation of a new front in the current conflict by any state or non-state entity.
We remind you that this week Antony Blinken came to Israel again – for the third time since the start of attacks by Hamas militants and the start of active military operations by the IDF.
Blinken also spoke about Israel’s plans. He said that Tel Aviv does not intend to govern the Gaza Strip after the war.
