The speaker of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Dmitry Pletenchuk, announced this today, November 5, during a national telethon, Liga.net reports.
The situation is stable. It seems that the enemy really does not understand what to do next, and is taking an operational pause in order to somehow change his tactics,” Pletenchuk noted.
He recalled that the Russians had previously dispersed the naval personnel of the fleet.
Perhaps now they will decide how to use other bases at all, given that Sevastopol is not and will never again be a safe base for Russians, he noted.
That’s why there’s such a calm now – there’s only one ship in the Black Sea and one in the Azov Sea, we don’t see any carriers at all. And even in the Mediterranean Sea there are only two units, and usually they were in the entire group,” Pletenchuk added.
The Navy speaker also confirmed that yesterday, November 4, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Russian ship Askold. According to Pletenchuk, the level of damage caused to the ship will become known when “the sun rises” and satellite images appear.
Now we can only confirm that he was hit,” he noted.
